VII Foundation
The VII Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to in-depth documentary journalism on the most urgent issues of our time, empowering emerging visual journalists through education, producing long-term documentary projects, and bringing new and neglected perspectives to a global public audience. Founded by members of the acclaimed VII photo agency, the Foundation has trained over 1,400 journalists across more than 60 countries and has produced landmark projects at the intersection of photography, advocacy, and storytelling.
de.MO has collaborated with the VII Foundation across a range of editorial, exhibition, and educational projects spanning nonprofit branding, publication design, exhibition design, and multi-platform content development. For Dispatches, a magazine focused on single-topic documentary reporting, de.MO provided editorial design and art direction. For the Millennium Villages Project, founded by economist Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University, we translated field reporting by VII photographers into a cohesive body of work comprising a book and a traveling exhibition. We designed and produced a VII Foundation exhibition to present their work to a broad public audience, supporting awareness and fundraising. Most recently, Imagine: Reflections on Peace, a multi-platform initiative centered on peacebuilding, brought together a book, exhibition, films, and educational curriculum, with de.MO contributing across the full range of design and production.
